Mississippi-based technology company expands management team to support rapid growth and
increased demand for advanced business solutions.
JACKSON, Miss. — July 15, 2014 — Broadband Voice, a leading provider of business communication
solutions, today announced recent additions to its executive leadership team. Michael Fowler was
appointed as the company’s Vice President of Sales, Ben Sims was named Vice President of
Operations and Laura Johns will serve as the Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development.
The expansion of its executive team positions the company for accelerated growth as it continues to
support a broadening customer base and prepares an even more advanced product portfolio.
Founded in 2006, Broadband Voice has seen a 25 percent growth in revenue consistently over the last
five years and has forecasted an even greater increase in that growth over the next 18-24 months. Gary
Watts, founder and Chief Executive Officer, has been with the company since inception. Chris Goolsby
also serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. “It was time for our company to make some major
leadership decisions to position us for what’s to come,” said Watts. “Michael and Ben bring a wealth of
skill and knowledge to their positions as two of our longest-tenured team members. This, paired with
Laura’s fresh ideas and broad knowledge of marketing for technical products and services, will prepare
us for expansion and success going forward.”
Broadband Voice has made a name for itself by providing Voice over IP (VoIP) technology solutions to
small to medium-sized businesses in the Southeast. Together, the new executive team brings over thirty
years of technical expertise to the company. Sims has been with Broadband Voice since 2008 as
Director of VoIP and will now lead the day-to-day operations and technical implementation for the
company. Fowler has led the company since its first day of business as the driving team member
supporting revenue growth. In his new position, he will lead the company’s sales efforts and support
reseller relationships. Johns comes from local technology success story, SmartSynch (acquired by Itron
in 2012), and will lead Broadband Voice’s marketing and corporate development efforts, continuing to
expand the company’s footprint nationally.
